OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults) is a program for any adults who wish to become Catholic. Our participants are able to receive any and all of the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Holy Communion, Confirmation) at the Easter Liturgy, so the program begins in late fall - to study and prepare for
that day. We meet on Sunday mornings, during and after the 11:30 am Mass, and facilitate learning through Scripture studies, presentations, Q & A, and opportunities and use of a textbook.
Ministry participants are called Welcomers and asked to attend the sessions (when possible), get to know the Catholics - to - be and provide them with support and encouragement. Welcomers can do presentations, are always encouraged to take part in discussions and help with hospitality (we provide coffee and...) and , of course, to attend the Easter Vigil and take part in the celebration. Our welcomers are always grateful for the opportunity to increase their own knowledge and faith through the process.
