About Parish Events...
What constitutes a parish event? A parish event is any gathering on our church grounds or at another location, initiated and/or organized by a parish ministry or staff and in support of our parish mission and community. For example:
- Sacramental celebrations (Masses, baptisms, 1st communions, confirmations, weddings, funerals, etc.)
- Retreats
- Pulpit Talks/Interview
- Ministry meetings
- Social events
- Special prayer services (Novena, Stations of the Cross…)
- Rehearsals (weddings, music, for special events, etc.)
- Classes and/or trainings
- Faith-sharing groups
- Celebrations, special acknowledgements and/or “blessings” which take place during a given Mass (Antioch Team Commissioning, May Crowning, etc.)
- Gathering Space activity (event registrations, ministry promotional efforts, etc.)
- Spiritual gatherings and/or performances (i.e. Living Stations of the Cross, Leadership Summits, Christmas concerts, speakers, etc.)
How to schedule a Parish Event - Please contact our Parish Secretary at
[email protected]. Your email must include the following logistics:
- Date
- Start time & End time (note separately any need of space for set-up or clean-up purposes)
- Number of attendees
- Location needs (e.g. Parish Hall, Resource Room, classroom, Church, Chapel, etc.)
- Set-up requirements (e.g. tables, chairs, projector, screen, use of the kitchen, etc.)
- Other special requirements (e.g. need for priest(s), deacon(s) or special speakers to attend/participate, support from other ministries – music, hospitality, photography.)
We will email you confirmation of the arrangements or alert you of any scheduling issues/conflicts if any should arise. Your event will appear "real time" on our parish calendar, so be sure to check to cofirm you time and space needs are met.
When to schedule a Parish Event: Please sure to alert us of your ministry’s event
as much in advance as possible, preferably
3 months or more beforehand. If insufficient notice is given, we cannot assure your needs will be met!
*Important: Major events and programs/series, including Faith Formation, Cornerstone retreats, Antioch weekends, ALPHA, Sacramental celebrations, special retreats, as well as date-sensitive events must be scheduled at least 6 months in advance.
Pre-Mass Announcements... Please contact
[email protected] to discuss feasibility of making an announcement before weekend Masses for a given event. Please note that given the level of activity in our parish and just "lessons learned" we must consider several factors in the feasibility of announcing parish or ministry events before Mass... we appreciate your understanding!
About your Ministry Membership/Rosters...
It is important for us (parish office/leadership) to be aware of who in our parish is involved in ministry. Please be sure to keep us informed of ministry members joining or no longer serving in your ministry.
Flocknote Gruop Lists: It is our hope that ALL ministries use Flocknote to communicate with their ministry team. Please contact us (
[email protected]) to create a group list for your ministry and to assist you, if need be, on how to use Flocknote for communication purposes.
Ministry Website Pages/Social Media...
It is our hope as well that all ministries be visible on our website. Please contact
[email protected] to discuss the best way to give your ministry visibility on our website and social media platforms!
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!
As ministry chair/leader, you will be given access to personal contact information for your ministry members and possibly members of our community. Please note that using such information for other purposes other than ministry is NOT permitted. We appreciate your cooperation.
We are deeply grateful for all you do to build FAITH,
nourish LIFE and expand LOVE in our parish community!!!
