Maybe you are a little nervous about Men's Cornerstone, maybe a little skeptical. Please don't give into those feelings!! There's something wonderful about a fellowship of men-as-brothers, expressing their spirituality together in a supportive, non-threatening, yet masculine way. We invite you men to experience the Men's Cornerstone at Notre Dame of Mount Carmel on January 29th and 30th (Friday evening through Saturday evening), 2010.

What is the Men's Cornerstone Weekend?

The Men's Cornerstone weekend is a 25-hour program that begins on Friday evening, and culminates with a Mass at 7:30 PM on Saturday evening. It is a spiritual experience through which we become more conscious of how Christ is the Cornerstone of our lives, enabling us to live, grow and become more loving and vital persons. It is as well a social experience that provides us a wonderful opportunity for meeting other men of our parish and deepening our relationship with them. The Cornerstone Weekend is a wonderful gift, a much needed spiritual lift from the daily routine of our lives.

Why should I attend Cornerstone?

The Cornerstone Weekend brings our faith to life. During the weekend you will listen to and reflect upon experiences that demonstrate how God is present in our lives, how the Holy Spirit works in real life, how Christ walks with us every step of the way and how He is the Cornerstone.

Who coordinates the Cornerstone Weekend?

The Men's Cornerstone is led by a team of men from the parish who have participated in a previous Cornerstone Weekend. This year's team coordinators are Billy Stahl (bkstahl@optonline.net) and Will Fernandez (willcpa@optonline.net).

When does Cornerstone take place?

The weekend will be held January 29th and 30th, 2010 at Notre Dame of Mount Carmel Church, beginning in the Parish Hall. The Cornerstone Weekend begins at 6:30 PM on Friday evening. Sleeping accommodations and meals will be provided.

How can I sign up?

Glad you asked! Registration begins in December, when we will make registration forms available via our parish bulletin and also on our website.

How do previous atendees describe the experience?

"I made my Men's Cornerstone in January of 2004. I had some reservations about going. However, I knew that something was missing in my life. I needed to search for that missing piece. That missing part of my life was a relationship with the Lord. Before Cornerstone I was blind. I could not see what beautiful gifts God had bestowed upon me. I had doubts about faith. I wanted to be happy with my life. Cornerstone changed my life forever. Friday night during the first talk that was given by Vinny, I was overcome with a warmth that I had never felt before. My heart and eyes were opened to Jesus Christ. As the next 24 hours passed I experienced a transformation in the way I look at life. I now look at my wife and children and see God. There He was right in front of my face yet I could not see him. I do now." - Greg

"It is humbling to be a part of something that is so moving, so life altering and so important. I know during that weekend I am truly in the presence of the Lord." - James Carlson-Zyats

"I experienced Gods love, and felt the presence of the Holy Spirit through my cornerstone brothers."
- Tom L

"Cornerstone provided me with a unique opportunity to hear men share their stories of how the Lord has worked in their lives. Experiencing their openness and honesty touched me deeply, helped strengthen my relationship with the Lord, and created a special bond with my Cornerstone brothers that continues even today." - In His peace, Jerry Heffner

"Cornerstone was a deeply, enriching, faith filled weekend that allowed me to focus on and deepen my relationships with God, my family and friends. It was a truly an awesome spiritual weekend that truly surpassed my expectations and has allowed me to incorporate some new positive changes into my life!" - Mark
